Mercy's Meadow is a business that was named after our youngest daughter Mercy, who was born in Nepal in May 2005. All of the items we sell have been made and designed in Nepal. Profit from the sale of these items goes towards supporting orphanages and children's homes in the impoverished nation of Nepal. A 10-year old Maoist insurgency has left tens of thousands of Nepalis dead and thousands of children orphaned and homeless. Numerous children's homes have started over the last decade to care for these displaced children and the profit from the sale of the items on this website goes towards supporting several of these homes, which are providing love, nurture, shelter, food, education and a new family for these hurting children. At this time, our products include original designs of sundresses with matching hats, originally-designed jewelry, hand-woven Nepali and Tibetan carpets, and hand-woven Pashmina shawls and scarves.

The Mercy's Meadow sundress designs are a line of colorful and fun sundresses with matching hats for girls from babies to 12 years old. These unique, one-of-a-kind creations are just as special and unique as your child. Each dress comes with a matching hat and both the dress and hat are included in the pricing. Shipping is only $5 per order, even if you order 10 carpets, 5 Pashmina shawls, 4 necklaces, and 3 dresses!

The women's jewelry also includes original designs made by a close friend who is overseeing Children's Homes here in Nepal . The jewelry is assembled by widows, giving them a livelihood and sense of self-worth, in a culture that often teaches that widows have little value or worth because in Nepal a woman's identity is usually found in her husband and his family.

All of our 40 carpet designs are 100% wool, except for two designs that are made of a combination of 100% wool and 100% silk. We offer 10 different sizes of wool carpets and 9 different sizes of wool/silk carpets. The carpets are all made by Nepalis and Tibetans and are woven by hand. You can purchase these exact same carpets on E-bay and other carpet websites for anywhere from two to four times the price that we sell them for. The carpets are all very rare, unique designs and each carpet takes hundreds of hours to make by hand. They are absolutely beautiful and will add so much color and life to any room. We only charge $5 shipping for all orders even though we ship these beautiful carpets to your door all the way from Nepal! The cost for the international shipping is built into the carpet cost, so not only are you getting these carpets at 50-75% off their normal cost, but you don't have to pay hundreds of dollars extra for shipping!

The Pashmina shawls and scarves are made of pure Pashmina wool. They are woven by hand with the highest quality of fabric and are very soft. The more expensive the shawl or scarf, the thicker and softer they are. We have 4 fabrics that we offer:

* 70% Pashmina/30% silk
* Water Pashmina
* Polyester

Our 100% Pashmina shawls are the softest thing you will ever touch in your life – guaranteed! They will make you feel beautiful and elegant, like you are wrapped in a soft cloud! It is unfortunate that you cannot feel the softness of these shawls and scarves through the internet, but we can assure you that the higher the price goes, the softer and thicker the material will be and the more you will love your shawl or scarf! The lower priced items are also very soft and nice, but not as thick and warm as the higher priced items.
